A prominent Polish journalist and TV presenter, she is the founder and served as the president of the TVN Foundation "Nie jesteś sam" from 2001 to 2016. During her university years, she contributed as a journalist and columnist to the Kielce newspaper "Słowo Ludu." She then became an announcer at Television Kraków, followed by a stint as a reporter on the "Śląski Magazyn Informacyjny" at Radio Katowice. After two years, she moved to Warsaw, debuting in 1967 as an announcer on Polish Television. Subsequently, she co-hosted and produced the entertainment program "Telewizyjny Ekran Młodych." She also co-hosted and co-created the popular Studio 2 program during the PRL era, contributed to the creation and management of the children and youth program "5-10-15," and was the creator of the entertainment program "Czar par."
In 1976, she completed her studies at the PWSFTviT in Łódź, specializing in Television Production for Journalistic Programs. Her tenure at TVP concluded in 1997. In 2001, she initiated the establishment of the TVN Foundation "Nie jesteś sam," sponsored by the TVN joint-stock company, which covered the operational costs of the organization. Bożena Walter held the position of president of the foundation, serving in a voluntary capacity until 2016.
