Mariusz Walter was passionate about media, and the Award seeks to honor outstanding media professionals and creators of innovative initiatives that shape the direction of Polish media and represent important values. It aims to promote individuals and content characterized by social sensitivity, openness, truth, courage, intuition, reliability, and creativity. It also aims to highlight original ideas and exemplary journalistic skills. This recognition is intended for both experienced media professionals and those new to the industry.

We pay special attention to those whose talent and hard work have not been properly honored so far, - explains Bożena Walter, founder of the Bożena and Mariusz Walter Foundation.
The Mariusz Walter Award aims to recognize creators and journalists who significantly distinguished themselves last year in one of four categories: Media Personality of the Year (Main Award), Media Highlight of the Year, New Voice in the Media, and Sport in the Media. Nominees and winners of individual categories are selected by the Award Committee, consisting of 18 people, including representatives of the media world, cultural figures, and personalities who are active in the media and react to important events.
