A distinguished reporter and author, his books have been published in 21 countries. His work "Gottland" not only won the European Book Prize in 2009 but also secured the Nike Readers' Prize in Poland. He was honored as the Journalist of the Year in 2013 by the Grand Press. Starting his career at the young age of 16 with the weekly "Na przełaj," he became well-known in the '90s for hosting the talk show "Na każdy temat." A true aficionado of Czech culture, he is the author of several best-selling books about the Czech Republic, including "Gottland," "Zrób sobie raj," and "Laska nebeska." His literary prowess is further exemplified by his monumental three-volume anthology of 20th-century Polish reportage, "100/XX." Recognized by the President of Poland with the Polonia Restituta order, he also imparts his expertise at the Polish School of Reportage. His influence and authority in the field were acknowledged when he received the "Autorytet 2015" award in the Mediator contest, voted for by journalism students nationwide. He presides over the Institute of Reportage Foundation, managing both the "Wrzenie świata" bookstore-café and the "Dowody na Istnienie" publishing house. His reportage book titled "Nie ma" was released in the fall of 2018, earning him both the Nike Literary Award and the Nike Readers' Award, and he was also the recipient of the Nike 25th Anniversary Award.
